BOARD OF OVERSEERS OF THE BAR Plaintiff v. John A. Doonan, Esq. of Ipswich, MA Me. Bar No. 003250 Defendant

William R. Stokes, Justice

ORDER OF RECIPROCAL

DISCIPLINE

M. Bar R. 26(e)

William R. Stokes, Justice

John A. Doonan. Esq. was admitted to the Maine bar in 1985.

In August 2022, the Board received certified confirmation that the Massachusetts Board of Bar Overseers of the Supreme Judicial Court had issued a July 29, 2022, Order imposing discipline on Attorney Doonan. The Court's imposition of a Public Reprimand was based upon Attorney Doonan's violations of Massachusetts Rules of Professional Conduct, Rules 1.15(b), 1.15(b)(2)(ii), Rule 1.15(b)(4) and 1.15(f)(1)(B), (C), (D) and (E).

Attorney Doonan has consented to Reciprocal Discipline in this matter, The Court notes that Attorney Doonan's professional conduct violations included negligent misuse of client funds resulting from his failure to maintain adequate IOLTA records and failure to safekeep client funds. In Maine, Attorney Doonan's misconduct would constitute analogous violations of M. R. Prof. Conduct 1.15(b) and Rule 1.15(b)(2)(iii).

Based upon the above rule violationsj the Court finds that reciprocal discipline in Maine is warranted. Accordingly, the Court ORDERS that John A. Doonan, Esq. is hereby publicly Reprimanded. The clerk shall enter this Order on the docket.
