IN RE: ORAL ARGUMENTS

PER CURIAM.

It has been our practice to grant all requests for oral arguments. However, the proliferation of requests and concomitant backlog of cases awaiting oral argument has required us to revise this practice. Beginning immediately we will strictly adhere to Rule 5-1(a) of the Rules of the Supreme Court and Court of Appeals of the State of Arkansas, and we will no longer grant oral argument requests where we find that (1) the appeal is frivolous; (2) the dispositive issue or set of issues has been decided authoritatively; or (3) the briefs and record adequately present the facts and legal arguments, and oral argument would not significantly aid the decision-making process. If and when we determine that we can again grant all requests for oral arguments without significant delays in the submission of such cases, we intend to return to our former practice.
