ORDER
On March 24, 2006, this Court invited members of the Rhode Island Bar and other interested persons to offer written comment, on or before May 24, 2006 (subsequently extended to June 23, 2006), on the proposed new Rhode Island Rules of Professional Conduct with Proposed Comments which had then recently been drafted by our Committee to Review the Rules of Professional Conduct (the committee) and which had been submitted to us by the committed for our consideration. We observed at the time that upon expiration of the period for written comment, we would select a date for public hearing on the proposal. Accordingly, such period having now expired, we hereby direct that the committee's Proposed Rhode Island Rules of Professional Conduct with Proposed Comments be assigned for public hearing on Thursday, January 4, 2007, at 9:00 a.m. Any person who anticipates addressing the Court in respect to the proposal should notify the Clerk of this Court of his/her intent to do so on or before Friday, December 29, 2006. Once again, copies of the committee's proposal will be available for examination at all branches of the State Law Library and by accessing the website of the Rhode Island Judiciary at www.courts.ri.gov and clicking and Supreme Court, Orders, and then Miscellaneous Orders.
