Parties are directed to file supplemental briefs addressing the following question: Whether an alien who has been granted voluntary departure and has filed a timely motion to reopen should be permitted to withdraw the request for voluntary departure prior to the expiration of the departure period. Briefs, not to exceed 3,000 words, to be filed simultaneously with the *1117 Clerk and served upon opposing counsel on or before 2 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2008. Reply briefs, not to exceed 2,000 words, may be filed with the Clerk and served upon opposing counsel on or before 2 p.m., Friday, February 1, 2008.
