(Judgment of the Court was authored by R.SURESH KUMAR, J.) In respect of maintenance case, though it is not a subject matter here, the learned counsel appearing for both sides would submit that there are arrears payable by the appellant husband to the respondent wife to an extent of Rs.9 lakhs.

    2. The said amount, according to Ms.V.Mythili, learned counsel appearing for the appellant, would be paid in three equal installments with three months' gap each.

    3. We have considered the said submission made by the learned counsel appearing for the appellant and also heard Mr.N.K.Ponraj, learned counsel for the respondent.

    4. Since the arrears payable are Rs.9 lakhs, it could be paid in three installments, but between two installments, there must be a gap of only two months, instead of three months that is asked for. Therefore, within two months' gap each, the arrears of Rs.9 lakhs, in entirety, should be paid in three installments and the appellant husband shall continue to pay the current maintenance without fail. The first installment shall be paid by the appellant to the respondent on or before 30.04.2025.
