SHALINI SINGH NAGPAL J. (Oral)
The petition under Section 226/227 of Constitution of India seeks directions to respondents No. 2 and 3 to protect life and liberty of the petitioner from private respondents No. 4 and 5. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner was married with respondent No. 4 on 10.06.2014 and a male child was born out of the wedlock. Respondent No. 4 was habitual of consuming liquor and other synthetic drugs. Under the influence of intoxicants, he physically assaulted the petitioner on several occasions. He had also filed a petition for dissolution of marriage under Section 13 of Hindu Marriage Act before learned Principal Judge, Family Court, Hoshiarpur. Now, respondent No. 4 in connivance with respondent No. 5, was threatening to kill the petitioner, if his demands were not fulfilled. In this regard, a representation was moved to Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, for protection of life and liberty of the petitioner, but no action was taken.
Notice of motion to official respondents only.

CRWP-4588-2026 (O&M) -2-
Mr. Kunwarbir Singh, AAG Punjab, who is present in Court, accepts notice on behalf of the official respondents and on instructions from HC Vishal Sharma, submits that petitioner appeared before the concerned police station on 21.04.2026 along with her husband and made statement that she did not wish to prosecute the writ petition any further. From the arguments addressed and the representation to Senior Superintendent of Police, Hoshiarpur, the matter appears to be pure and simple matrimonial dispute between the husband and wife. There is no apparent threat to life and liberty of the petitioner and her family, particularly in the wake of her statement dated 21.04.2026, which has not been disputed.
Hence, no direction is required to be passed in the petition which stands disposed of.
Pending CRM(s), if any, are also disposed of accordingly.
