The appellant filed an online application under the Right to Information Act, 2005 (RTI Act) before the Central Public Information Officer (CPIO), Directorate of Public Grievances, Cabinet Secretariat, New Delhi, seeking information on two points with regard to the closing of his grievance vide registration no. DPG/T/2011/80096 dated 16.05.2011 namely (i) the cause of rejection of registration no. DPG/T/2011/80096 with point-wise details and (ii) the details of the appellate authority for such rejection by the respondent.

The appellant filed a second appeal before the Commission on the ground that the respondent and the FAA have not provided information on the plea that the information sought for did not fall within the definition of information as per Section 2(f) of the RTI Act, 2005. The appellant further states that the ground of pending consideration is inconsistent with the RTI Act, and superseded by Section 22 of the RTI Act, 2005. The appellant requested the Commission to direct the CPIO to provide information/documents under RTI Act, and also take appropriate action against the FAA under Section 18(3) of RTI Act, 2005. The appellant also seeks compensation. The appellant also seeks issuance of directions for disciplinary action and fine on the CPIO and the FAA.
Hearing on 26.08.2019:
3. The appellant was not present despite notice. The respondent Shri Anant Kumar, Under Secretary and CPIO and Shri Alok Kumar, Under Secretary, Cabinet Secretariat, Directorate of Public Grievances, New Delhi were present in person.
4. The respondent submitted that the information sought for by the appellant has been provided to the appellant by the respondent.
DECISION
5. The Commission, after hearing the submissions of the respondents and perusing the records, observes that due information has been provided to the appellant by the respondent. Hence, no further intervention of the Commission is required in the matter.
6. With the above observations, the appeal is disposed of.
7. Copy of the decision be provided free of cost to the parties.
