Based on an application made under sub-section (1) of Section 15 of the Electricity Act, 2003 (the Act), Sri Balaji Biomass Power Private Limited was on 22.1.2008 granted licence as a category ‘A’ electricity trader for trading in whole of India, except the State of Jammu & Kashmir, subject to the terms and conditions contained in the licence.

The present interlocutory application has been made to inform that the name of the company is changed from Sri Balaji Biomass Power Private Limited to Greenko Energies Private Limited with effect from 21.4.2008 The certificate of change of name dated 21.4.2008 issued by Asstt. Registrar of Companies, Andhra Pradesh has been placed on record along with the present application. A prayer is made to note and take on record the change in the name of Sri Balaji Biomass Power Private Limited to Greenko Energies Private Limited on the licence issued on 22.1.2008 in favour of Sri Balaji Biomass Power Private Limited.
3. Consequent to issue of certificate of change of name by the Asstt. Registrar of Companies, Andhra Pradesh, as noted above, we direct that in the Commission's records, name of the licensee be changed from “Sri Balaji Biomass Power Private Limited” to “Greenko Energies Private Limited” and an endorsement to that effect be made by Secretary of the Commission on the licence certificate already issued on 22.1.2008 in favour of Sri Balaji Biomass Power Private Limited.
4. A copy of this order be sent to the Central Government in Ministry of Power and CEA in terms of sub-section (7) of Section 15 of the Act for their information and record.
5. With the above order, IA No. 16/2009 stands disposed of.
