Mass. Gen. Laws ch. 45 § 1 : ADMINISTRATION OF THE GOVERNMENT — CITIES, TOWNS AND DISTRICTS — PUBLIC PARKS, PLAYGROUNDS AND THE PUBLIC DOMAIN — Definitions

In this chapter "town" shall not include city. In this chapter "park" shall include a city or town common dedicated to the use of the public, or appropriated to such use without interruption for a period of twenty years.
