Cal. Civil Code § 1749.2 : Layaway Practices — California Civil Code — Obligations — Waiver of provisions

Any waiver by the buyer of consumer goods of the provisions of this title, except as expressly provided in this title, shall be deemed contrary to public policy and shall be unenforceable and void.
