(i) This Act may be called the Punjab Abolition Shott, title and of Village Cess (Kuri Kamini) Act, 1950. . (i) It extends to the whole of the State of Punjab. : 1 2. Notwithstanding anything contained in any लू दा Record-of-Rights prepared or any notification issued * or order made under the Punjab Land Revenue Act, 1887, or any agreement express or implied or any custom or usage to the contrary, the Cess known as Kuri kamini or Khuli Kamini including its other local variations (hereinafter referred to as the “said cess”) shall cease to be levied. ः 3. Penalkity for com- - travention, L 4 ABOLITION OF VILLAGE [1950 : Pb. Act 6 CESS (KURI KAMINI) 4. Whoever with intent to évade the provisions of this Act accepts or obtains or agrees to accept or attempts to obtain from any person for himself or for any other person the village cess hereby abolished shall be punishable with fine which may extend to three hundred rupees and in default of the payment of the fine to simple im- “prisonment for a term which may extend to three months.
