No. 317-L.-15th March, 2024.—The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:—

THE BENGAL LEGISLATIVE ASSEMBLY (MEMBERS' EMOLUMENTS)
(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2023.

Short title and
commencement.
An Act to amend the Bengal Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) Act, 1937. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Bengal Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) Act, 1937, for the purpose and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Bengal Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) (Amendment) Act, 2023.

Act II of 1937.
The Bengal Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) (Amendment) Act, 2023.
(Section 2.)
(2) It shall come into force with effect from the first day of November, 2023.
2. In section 3 of the Bengal Legislative Assembly (Members' Emoluments) Act, 1937, for the words "ten thousand rupees", the words "fifty thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
