No. 318-L.-15th March, 2024.—The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:—

THE WEST BENGAL SALARIES AND ALLOWANCES
(AMENDMENT) ACT, 2023.
[Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 15th March, 2024.]
An Act to amend the West Bengal Salaries and Allowances Act, 1952. WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the West Bengal Salaries and Allowances Act, 1952, for the purposes and in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the West Bengal Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 2023.

Amendment of section 8. Amendment of section 8B. The West Bengal Salaries and Allowances (Amendment) Act, 2023.
(Sections 2-4.)
(2) It shall come into force with effect from the first day of November, 2023.
2. In sub-section (1) of section 3 of the West Bengal Salaries and Allowances Act, 1952 (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), for the words and figures
"Rs. 11,000", "Rs. 10,900" and "Rs. 10,900" respectively, the words and figures
"Rs. 51,000", "Rs. 50,900" and "Rs. 50,900" respectively, shall be substituted.
3. In sub-section (1) of section 8 of the principal Act, for the words and figures
"Rs. 16,000" and "Rs. 10,900" respectively, the words and figures "Rs. 56,000" and
"Rs. 50,900" respectively, shall be substituted.
4. In section 8B of the principal Act, for the words, figures and brackets "Rs. 11,000 (Rupees eleven thousand)", the words, figures and brackets "Rs. 51,000 (Rupees fifty- one thousand)" shall be substituted.
