No. 2059-L.--13th December, 2023.—The following Act of the West Bengal Legislature, having been assented to by the Governor, is hereby published for general information:—

THE BENGAL ALLUVIAL LANDS
(REPEALING) ACT, 2023.
[Passed by the West Bengal Legislature.] [Assent of the Governor was first published in the Kolkata Gazette, Extraordinary, of the 13th December, 2023.]
Short title and
commencement.
An Act to repeal the Bengal Alluvial Lands Act, 1920. WHEREAS it is expedient to repeal the Bengal Alluvial Lands Act, 1920; It is hereby enacted in the Seventy-fourth Year of the Republic of India, by the Legislature of West Bengal, as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Bengal Alluvial Lands (Repealing) Act,
2023.

(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
Repeal of Ben.
Act V of 1920.
2. The Bengal Alluvial Lands Act, 1920 is hereby repealed. Saving.
3. Notwithstanding such repeal, all actions already undertaken or initiated under the Bengal Alluvial Lands Act, 1920 shall be deemed to have been validly undertaken or initiated and remaining process, if any, shall be deemed to have been taken or executed under the respective repealed Act.
