The following Act of the Tamil Nadu Legislature received the assent of the President on the 1st October 1986 and is hereby published for general information: —
ACT No. 61 OF 1986.
An Act to validate proceedings and acts of V Additional Sub-Judge, Tiruchirappalli acting as Tribunal under the Inam Abolition Laws.
BE it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
1. Short title and commencement.—(1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Inam Abolition Laws (Validation of Proceedings) Act, 1986.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 14th December 1976.
2. Validation of proceedings and acts of V Additional Sub-Judge, Tiruchirappalli acting as Tribunal under the Inam Abolition Laws.— Notwithstanding that the V Additional Sub-Judge, Tiruchirappalli has not been appointed to perform the functions of the Tribunal under the Tamil Nadu Inam Estates (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Act, 1963 (Tamil Nadu Act 26 of 1963), the Tamil Nadu Minor Inams (Abolition and Conversion into Ryotwari) Act, 1963 (Tamil Nadu Act 30 of 1963) and the Tamil Nadu Inams (Supplementary) Act, 1963 (Tamil Nadu Act 31 of 1963) (hereinafter referred to as the said Acts) all orders passed, all applications, petitions and other documents received, all decisions and proceedings taken, all permissions granted, all directions and summons issued, and all other acts and things done as Tribunal under the said Acts by or before the said V Additional Sub-Judge, Tiruchirappalli during the period commencing on the 14th December 1976 and ending with the 16th February 1977, shall be deemed to have been validly passed, received, taken, granted, issued or done as if the said V Additional Sub-Judge, Tiruchirappalli had been invested with powers of the Tribunal under the said Acts with effect on and from the 14th December 1976.
3. Exclusion of time for limitation. — In computing the period of limitation for an appeal against, or for an application for execution of, an order specified in section 2, the period between the passing of such order and the date of publication of this Act in the Tamil Nadu Government Gazette, shall be excluded.
