to extend the Industrial Disputes {Appellate Tribunal) Act, 1950 to the Autonomous Districts in the State o f Assam.
Pr ea mble.— Whereas it is ex pedient to extend the Industr ial Disputes (Appellate Tr ibu nal) Act, 1950 to t he Autonomous Distr icts in the Sta te of Assam ;
It is hereby ena cted in the Seventh Yea r of the Republic of In di a as follows :—
1. Short t it le , ex ten t an d co m m en ce m en t.— (1) This Act may be called the Ind ust ria l Dispu tes (Ap pell ate Tr ibu nal) (Extension to the Assam Autonomous Districts) Act, 1956.
(2) It shall extend to the Autonomou s Dist ricts referred to in Pa rt A of the Schedule app end ed to pa ragrap h 20 of the Sixth Schedule to the Const itut ion o f India , hereinafte r r efer red to as “ the said area s” .
(3) Th is Act shall come into force on such da te as the Sta te Gov ern ment appo int in th at behal f.
2. Exten sio n of Pa rl iamen t Act XLVIII o f 1950.—All the provisions of t he Indust ria l Dispute s (Appellate Tr ibu na l) Act , 1950 shall app ly to the said areas,
