tion of India, the Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following
English translation of the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vishwavidyalaya (Sanshodhan)
Adhiniyam, 1986 (Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 16 of 1986) , as passed
by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented to by the Governor on
September 8, 1986 :

ACT, 1986

further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973
as follows :-
IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Thirty-seventh Year of the Republic of India
(1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amend-
ment) Act, 1986. • •
(2) It shall be deemed to have 'come into force cn May 21, 1986.
In section 50 of the Uttar Pra.deSh State Universities Act, 1973,
hereinafter referred to as the principal Act,—
in sub-section (1-A), for the word and figures "December 31,
1985' the word and figures "December 31, 1987" shall, be and be
deemed always to have been substituted, and.
in sub-section (2), for the word and figures "December - 31, 1985"
the word and figures "December 31, 1987" shall be and be deemed
always to have been substituted.
3, (1) The Uttar Prndesli State Universities (Amencinient)Ordinance, 1986, Repeal and is hereby repealed. • • savings
(2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or anyaction taken
under the provisions of the principal Act, as amended by the Ordinance referred
to in sub-section (I), shall be deemed to have been done or taken um er the corres-
.poncing provisions of the principal Act, as amended by-this Act, as if the pro-
visions of this Act weie in force at all material times.
