further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Universities Act, 1973. IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Fiftieth Year of the Republic of India as follows :-
1 . Cl) This Act may be called ['tbe Uttar Pradesh Sin Universities (Amendment) Act, 1999.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on January 8, 1999. Short OW end

In section 4 of the Uttar pradesh Stale Universities Act, 1973, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in sub-section (1.A),for clause (d), the following clause shall be
substituted, namely
"(eha University to ;Abe kn , wn as Parvanchal University at jaunpur, Which shall, with effect from the dale of commencement of the Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Act, 1999, be called "Vir Bahadur Si :gh purvauhai Univ:rsity, Jaunpur,".

other law for the time being in force or in any Amendment of
section 4 o1 the President's Act no. 10 of 1973 as amended and re-enacted by U. P. Act
no. 29 of 1974 Insertion

In the Schedule to the principal Act, in Column 2, against serial no. 12, for the words "The PurvanchniUniversity" the words "Vir Bahadur Singh Purvanchai University, jaunpur" shall la; substituted.
(I) The Uttar Pradesh State Universities (Amendment) Ordinance, 1999 Is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding Such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the provisions of the principal Act as amendei by the Ordinance, referred to in sub-section (I), shall b: deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the priacipal Act, as amended by this Act as if the provisions or this Act were in for..:e at all an erial dines.
