to amend laws governing the salaries and allowances of State
• Legislature Officers, Ministers, Deputy Ministers and Parlia- memory Secretaries and matters connecied :therewith. WHEREAS the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidhan Mandal Ke • TAdhikari, Mantri, Up-Mantri Tatha Sabha Sachiv (Vetan Tatha . hhatta Aur Prakirn Up-Bandh) Adhyadesh, 1960, was promul- ated by the Governor on December 10; 1960, to amend the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidhan Mandal (Adhikariyon ,Ke Vetan • atha Bhattey) Adhiniyam, 1952, Uttar Pradesh ke Mantriyon A ur Up-Mantriyon• (Ke Vetan Tatha Bhatton) Ka Adhiniyam; 952, and-the Uttar Pradesh . Rajya Vidhan Mandal Ke Adhi- triyon Aur Sadasyon, Mantriyon, Up-Manttiyon Aur Sabha — achivon (Ke Vetan tatha Bhatton Aur Prakirn Up-Bandhon) a dhiniyam, 1956, for certain ,purposes;

2. In the Uttar Pradesh Rajya Vidhan Mandal (Adhikariyou Ke Vetan Tatha Bhattey) Adhiniyam, 1952—
..
(1) in section 2 for the words "twelve hundred per men- sem net exclusive of taxes on income levied in accordance

With the Indian Income Tax Act, 1922", the words "one thousand per mensem" shall be substituted ; v /(i) in section 3 for the word "seven" the word "six" • shall be substituted ; and
3) for section 4 the following shall be substituted—
"4. The Speaker and the Chairman shall each be z
entitled to, throughout the term of ,his office, a free furnished residence at Lucknow, and also at such other place in Uttar Pradesh and for such period, as may be prescribed .by rules to be made by the State Govern-
ment in this behalf. The residence shall be maintained
at public expense at such scale or scales as may be
prescribed by rules to be made by the State Govern-
ment in this behalf." . .
3. In the Uttar Pradesh Ke Mantriyon Aur Up-Mantriyon (Ke Vetan Tatha Bhatton) Ka Adhiniyam, 1952— ',./1) •n section 2—
(i) for clause (a) the following shall be substituted—
"(a) each Minister and Minister of State for Uttar Pradesh, a salary of rupees one thousand r mensem" ;
) clause (aa) shall be deleted ; and •
(iii) in clause (b) for the word "seven" the word / "six" shall be substituted ; and \./ (2) for sub-section (1) of section 3 the following shall be substituted:
"(1) Each Minister and Minister of State shall further e entitled to, throughout the term of his office, a free ,,, furnished residence at Lucknow, and also at such 1 /4....„ other place in Uttar Pradesh and for such period, as may be prescribed by 'rules to be made by the Stale

7 Provided that a Parliathenta.ry Secretary, appointed after the seventh day of December, 1960, who is a member of the Uttar Pradesh Legislative Asseinbly, or of the
Legislative Council, shall remain, from the •date of his
appointment as such, entitled to receive the game salary
as was payable to him as such member, under the Uttar
Pradesh Legislative Chambers (Members' Emoluments)
Act, 1952 ; anything contained in section 3 of that Act
to the contrary notwithstanding, as if this proviso had

been in force with effect from the seventh day of Decemlier, 1,......7./
(2) Each . Parliamentary Secretary shall be entitled without payment of rent to the use, throughout the term of his office, of a residence at Lucknow flrnished on a scale - to be provided by rules made by the State Government,' and for so long as a residence as aforesaid has not been provided, M a compensatory allowance of rupees one v'thundred per mensem" ; and
(2) sub-section (1) of section 4 shall be deleted. .
5. The Uttar Pradesh Rajya • Vidhan Mandal Ke Adhikari, Mantri, Up-Mantri Tatha Sabha Sachiv (Vetan Tatha Bhatta Aur Prakirna Up-Bandll) Adhyadesh, 1960, is hereby repealed and the provisions of sections 6 and 24 of the U. P. General Clauses Act, 1904, shall apply as if it were an enactment repealed ;and re-enacted by an Uttar Pradesh Act. . (Adhikartma
