CHAPTER I
PRELIMINARY
1. This Act mat be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legis- Short title and lature Officers, Ministers, Deputy Ministers, Parliamentary commencement. Secretaries and Members (Salaries and Allowances) (Amend- ment), Act, 1969, and shall be deemed to have come into force 40'11 1, '1969.

CHAPTER II
'
Amendment of. the U. PState Legislature (Officer? Salaries •,' and Allouleinces) Act, 1952
. Amendment of 2. Section 2 of the U. P. State Legislature (Officers' Salaries „ section 2 of U. P. and Allowances) Act, 1952, hereinafter in this Chapter referred / Act No. X.1 of 1952. to as the principal Act, shall 'be re-numbered as sub-section (1) thereof, and after sub-section (1) as so renumbered, the follow::. ing sub-section shall be inserted, namely :—
" (2) The said salary shall be exclusive . of the tax pay-,- able in respect thereof (including perquisites) under any law relating to income-tax for the time beirigin force, -and i such tax shall be borne by the State Government." , • of 3. Section 3 of the principal Act shall be re-numbered as:

Amendment of 4. In section 4 of the principal Act, the following Explana. section •4. • tion shall be inserted at the end, namely - "Explanation—For the purposes of this section,. 'mainte- nance , in-relation to a residence, includes the payment .of ; local rates and taxes and the. provision of water and also,; subject to a maximum limit of Rs.100 per mensern (inclu- ding electricity duty), the provision of electricity." - • 7

7. Section 2 of the U. P. Ministers and Deputy Ministers Amenciment of (Salaries and Allowances) Act, 1952, hereinafter in this section 2 of U. P. Chapter referred to as the principal Act, shall be re-numbered Act No.'X of 1952. as sub-section (1) thereof, and after • sub-section (1) as so re-numbered, the following sub-section shall be inserted, namely • .

CHAPTER V
,Amendment of the U. P. Legislative Chambers (Members Emoluments) Act, 1952

11. In 'section 2 of the U. P. Legislative Chambers (Mem U. P. Act No.

13. In section 2-B of the principid Act :— Amendment of
