Whereas it is expedient f-tirther to ari1e11d the Guwahati Waterbodies (Preservation
and Conservation) Act, 2008 to provide for preservation, protection, conservation,
regulation and maintenance of more water bodies within the jurisdiction of Guwahati
Metropolitan Development Authority and the matters enacted therewith or incidental
thereto;

It is hereby, enacted in the Sixty~first Yearof the Republic ofindia as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called the Guwahati Watcrbodies (Preservation and
Conscrvalion) (Amendment) Act, 2010.
(2) It shall have the like extent us the principal Act.
(3) It shall come into force at once.
2. In the principal Act, . in sections 3, 4, 7 and 11, for the figures, punctuation
marks and word "I, II; III, IV, V apd VI" respeeti.vely_ shall be substituted .
3. Jn the principal Act, after Schedule IV, the following new Schedule-V and
Schedule-VI shall be inserted, namely:-
