Jurther to amend the Manipur (Hill Areas) District Councils Act, 197] BEit enacted by the Legislature ofManipur in the Sixty-eight Year ofthe Republic of
Short title and India as follows:
commencement
1. (1) This Act may becalled the Manipur(Hill Areas) District Councils (Fourth Amendment) Act, 2017.
(2) It shall comeinto force with immediateeffect.
2. Insection 4 ofthe Manipur (Hill Areas) District Councils Act, 1971 (hereinafter
Amendmentof referred to as the Principal Act) after sub-section (3), the following sub-section shall section 4be added, namely:-
"(4) The members so nominated under sub-se; n ction (3) shall havevotingrightsin all meetingsofthe District Council to which they are nominated."

In sub-section (2) of section 23 ofthe Principal Act, the following, provisos shal] Amendmentof
be added namely:-

a Proy ided that no motionfor such resolutionshall be brought againstthe 7 ee or Vice-Chairman,as the case may be, withinoneyear ofhis assumption ofo Vice as the Chairman or Vice-Chairman,as the case may be, of the District Council.
Provided. further that ifa motion for suchresolutionis defeated, no motion for suchresolution shall be brought within a period ofone year from the date of suchdefeat ofthe motion."
