Governor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of the Uttar .Pradesh
Rajya Vidhan Mandil (S'adasyon ki Uplabdhiyan aur Pension) (Sansliodhan) Adhiniyam, 2006 (Uttar

further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluntents
and pension) Act, 1980.
IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic of India as
follows
Short tole • 1. This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members'
Emoluments and Pension) (Amendment) Act, 2006.

further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (MentberS' Emoltmzents '
IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Fifty<seventh Year of the Republic of India as
follows :'~
Shortmle ' L This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members’
Emoluments and Pension) (Amendment) Act, 2006.

2. In section.5 of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments
and Pension) Act, 1980 hereinafter referred to as the principal Act,—
Amendment of

in the first proviso, in clause (b) for the words "five thousand
rupees" the words "eight thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
after the second proViso the following proviso shall be inserted.
namely:—
"Provided also that out of the railway coupons to be supplied under
sub-section (2) to an ex-member, he shall at his option be supplied coupons of equal
value for travel by air at any time." --
3. In section 18 of the principal Act for the words "as may be prescribed" the Amendment of
words "and mobile phone as may be prescribed" shall be substituted. section 18
STATEMENT OF OBJECTS AND REASONS
The leaders of the parties have. in,their meeting held on August 8, 2005 decided to increase the
rupees toeight thousand rupees of the amount which a member may on his.

supplied, to him and to allow an e..tihem. ber to get council-is for travel by air out of the railway coupons
supplied to him . The ,State Government is of the opinion that the members may be given mobile phone
facility besides, the telephone facility provided to them as it is essential in the modern society. It has,
therefore, been decided amend the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments and
Pension) Act, 1980 to implement the decision of the leaders of the, Parties and to give mobile phone
facility to the members..
The Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments and Pension) (Amendment) . .
Bill, 2006 is introduced accordingly.
