No. 182—4Fy(M)-7/2010-FARD—In partial modification of Fisheries & Animal Resources Development Department Notification No. 7530, dated the 25th June 2007, the Range Officer, Gahiramatha is declared as Authorised Officer under Orissa Marine Fishing Regulation Act, 1982 with Jurisdiction from Palmyra’s point to Barunei mouth areas in lieu of Range Officer, Rajnagar. As reported by the CCF (Wildlife) in his Letter No. 7109, dated the 12th October 2010, the cadre of the Range Officers are declared as Group ‘B’ instead of Group ‘C’ in Forest & Environment Department.
This is done with a view to regulate illegal fishing activities in Sea Turtle Congregation Zones/ Restricted Fishing Zones as well as Marine Protected Areas of the State.
