BE it enacted by the Legivsvlature of Manipur in the Twenty-seventh ' Year of the Republic of India, as follows :— Short title & 1. (1) This Act may be called the Shri Govindaji Temple m°°emntm°“°e‘ (Amendment) Act, 1976, (2) Tt shall come into force at once. , 1ok 1972 2. In section 2 of the Shri Govindaji Temple Act, 1972 £ mendment ' (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act), the existing clause (e) shall be deleted and thereafter the existing clauses from (f) to (n) shall be renumbered as (e) to (m). ; F . . Amendment 3. In section 4 of the Prmc‘pa_l Act, : of section 4 () for the existing sub~sectio‘n (2) and proviso thereto, the - following shall be substituted, namely,— “(2) The State Government shall appoint, as the President of " the Board, a person who is not disqualified for any of the reasons specified in section 6, for a term of three years : ) Provided that the same person shall not be appointed consecutively fer more than three terms.”; (i) in between tke words ““Sub-Division” and “professing” occurring in the third line of the proviso to sub-section (3) the words “and such other officer holding a gazstted class II post, under him” shall be inserted. 4. In section 7 of the Principal Act, in between the words “kold OfAmen_dmcnt office” and “for a.period of three years” occurring ir the second and 5०8०५ 7 third lines, the word “ordinarily” shall be inserted. - 5. Amendment of section 10 Amendment of section 15 Amendment of section 22 @) (2) the brackets and figure “(2)” of sub-section (2) shall be deleted and in between the words “from, office’”- and - “the - Vice- President” occurring in the second line, the word “President” shall be inserted. 6. The colon at the end of section 10 of the Principal Act and proviso thereto shall be deleted and thereafter the words and ful-stop “for the remainder of the term” shall be added. ः - 7. For the ful-stop occurring at the end of clause (h) of section 15 of the Principal Act, a colon shall be substitiited and thereafter the following proviso shall be ifsetted, namely,~— “Provided that the Board shall, with the previous sanction and approval of the State Government, be competent to undertake and execute plans, schemes and constructions relating to or in connection with the matters defined and specified in (2) to (b) above'to be financed wholly or parily by the State Government”, 8. ® (if) In section 17 of the Principal Act,— after substituting a colon for the ful-stop at the end of sub-section (1) the following proviso shall be inserted namely,— “Provided that the institutions of Brahma Sabha, Pala Loishang, Pujari Loishang, Duhon Loishang, Pandit Loishang, Maibi Loishang, Pena Loishang, Jagoishabi Loishang, Cheirap Garod Loishang, Moibung Loishang and other minor Loishangs, whenever and wherever they are rendering Services in comnpection with the Seva and Puja . and - other- Cegenionies -and festivals of #e T eiipts; shall be deemed to be -suborditiate -and ‘responsible t6 thé Board.” ; after substituting. a colon for . the ful-stop:at thé end of sub-section (2), the following proviso shall be inserted, namely,— “Provided.that in - eXceptional cirdifstancss When- the temple-furd - is:mot-adéguate for -the -Ceréfionies and Testivils; the State Government may extendrgrants-inraid to.the Boazd.”. 9, In sestion 22 of the Principal-ACt; aftéf sdbstititiig a colén for the ful-stop at the end of sub-section (4) the following proviso shall be inserted, namely,—
(2) “Provided that the pay and allowances of the officers and servants may be paid in kind in pursuance of the cusfomary practice tollowed before the merger of Manipur into the Indian Union.”. . ः
