further to amend the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments
and Pension) Act, 1980
IT Is HEREBY enacted in the Thirty-sixth Year of the Republic of India
as follows:-
(1) This Act may. be called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature
(Members' Emoluments and Pension) (Amendment) Act, 1985.
(2) It shall be deemed tb have come into, force on March 9, 1985.
In section 24 of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members'
Emoluments and Pension) Act, 1980,----
in sub-section (1), the Explanation shall be re-numbered as
Explanation I and after the Explanation I as so re-numbered the
following Explanation shall be inserted, nainely :
"Explanation ti—Where a person has served as a member of the
Assembly, constituted in the year 1980, for a term which falls short
of five year by a period not exceeding three months, then such
person shall, for the purpose of this section, be deemed to have
served as a-member for five years." ,
in sub-section (2), in clause (i), for the word "Explanation" the
word and figure "Explanation I" shall be substituted.
