ACT
to amend the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Smoking (Cinema Houses) Act,
1952
follows :— IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Thirtieth Year of the Republic of India as
This Act may be -called the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Smoking
(Cinema Houses) (Amendment) Act, 1979.
In section 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Prohibition of Smoking (Cinema
Houses) Act, 1952 hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, the following
Explanation shall be inserted, namely—
"Explanation—The prohibition under this section shall apply also to
the period of any break or interval in any one demonstration or ex-
hibition but shall not apply to the period between two separate demonstra-
tions or exhibitions of a cinematographic film or dramatical or musical
performance."
In section 4 of the principal Act, in sub-section-(l), for the words "any
person found smoking during any such demonstration or exhibition as is referred
to in section 3", the words "any person found smoking in contravention of the
provisions of section 3" shall be substituted.
