IN pursuance of the provisions of clause (3) of Article 348 of the Constitution of India, the Gove rnor is pleased to order the publication of the following English translation of the Utt ar Pradesh Swa-yatta Shasan Vidhi (Sanshodhan) Adhiniyam, 1980 (Uttar Pradesh Adhiniyam Sankhya 8 of 1980, as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented to by the Governor on July 18, 1980. .

AN ACT

further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities, Notified Areas and Town Areas (Alpakalik Vyavastha) Adhiniyam, 1977, the Uttar Pradesh Urban Local Self-Government Laws (Third Amendment) Act, 1978 and the Uttar Pradesh Zila Parishads (Alpakalik Vyavastha) Adhiniyam, 1977.

IT IS HEREBY enacted in the Thirty-first year of the Republic of India as follows:

(1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Local Self-Government Laws (Amendment) Act, 1980,

(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on August 4, 1979.

In sections 2 and 3 of the Uttar Pradesh Municipalities, Notified Areas and Town Areas (Alpakalik Vyavastha) Adhiniyam, 1977, for the words "for a period of two years" wherever they occur, the words and figures "until September 30, 1980" shall be substituted.

3. In section 24 of the Uttar Pradesh Urban Local Self-Government Laws (Third Amendment) Act, 1978, for the word and figures "September 30, 1979" the words and figures "September 30, 1980" shall be substituted.

4. In section 2 of the Uttar Pradesh Zila Parishads (Alpakalik Vyavastha) Adhiniyam, 1977, in sub-section (I), far the words and figures"until 9th day of August, 1979", tie words and figures "until 31st day of March, 1981" shall be substituted.

- P. 5. (I) The Uttar Pradesh Local Self-Government Laws (Second Onliaaact Amendment) Ordinance, 1980 is hereby repealed. to, .6 of 1980.

• (2) Notwithstanding such repeal, anything done or any action taken under the Acts referred to in sections 2, 3 and 4 as-amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have been done or taken under those Acts as amended by this Act as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
