THE SOCIETIES REGISTRATION (T,JTTAR PRADESH
AMENDMENT) ACT, 1978
[U. P. ACT NO. 26 OF 1979]
(As passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature)
ACT
further to amend the Societies Registration Act,
1860 in its application to Uttar Pradesh
follows :— Zr Is: imam( enacted in the Thirtieth Year of the Republic of India as
I. This Act may be called ,the Societies Registration (Uttar Pradesh Amendment) Act, 1979.
Short title.
2. In section 3 of the Societies Registration Act, 1860 as amended in its
Amendment of application to Uttar Pradesh (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act),
in sub- section 3.
section (2), after clause (d), for
the Explanation, the following proviso shall be substituted, and be deemed always to have been
substituted, namely :
"Provided that the State Government may in exceptional circumstances,
for reasons to be recorded permit any society to use the word 'Union' of the
word 'Gandhi' in its name, and thereupon, the use of that word in the name of the society shall not be a ground
for refusal
to register or to renew the certificate of registration of such society."
3. After
section 3-A of the principal Act, the following section shall be
