Sankhya 26 of 1978), as passed by the Uttar Pradesh Legislature and assented to by the
Governor on September 16, 1978:

further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies Aet,1965
It IS HEREBY enacted in the Twenty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as follows :

(1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies
(Amendment) Act, 1978.
(2) It shall be deemed to have come into force on July 15, 1978.
In section 29 of the Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies Act, 1965,
hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in sub-fcction (6), for the words
"eighteen months" the words "two years" shall be substituted, and be deemed
always to have been substituted.
(1) The Uttar Pradesh Co-operative Societies (Amendment) Ordi-
nance,1978, is hereby repealed.
Notwithstanding suchrepeal, anything done or any action taken under
the principal Act, as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-scction (1)
shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the principal Act, as amended
by this Act, as if the provisions of this Act were in force at all material times.
Nothing done and no action taken under the principal Act or the rule
or bye-laws made thereunder before the commencement of this Act by the Ad-
ministrator appointed under sub-section (4) of section 29 of the said Act shall be
invalid merely by reason of his having failed to arrange for the reconstitution
of the Committee of Management within the period specified in sub-section (6)
of that section as it stood before its amendment by this Act.
