(AMEN DM EN T) ACT, 1936.

preamble. W hebeas it is expedie nt to amend the 1Rs%a,l'tlon 1 Assa m Land and Revenue Reg ula tion , 1886
(he rein afte r referred to as the principa l Regula- tion) :
I t is hereby enac ted as follows :—
short title . This Act may be called the Assam Lan d and Revenue (Am endmen t) Act, 1936.
Commencement. 2. I t shall come into forco on the first day of Au gust 1936.
or 3 . At, the end of section 78 of the prin cipal
Koeuintion I of Regulatio n the following proviso shall be insert- ' ed, namely :—
" Provided that the provisions of thi s sect ion shall not apply to any case in which the sale has been set aside under section 78A befo re the full amoun t of purchase-money falls due under cub"

(o) for disposal as directed in sub - sec tion 12) a sum equal to five per cen t, of the purchase-money up to Rs l,0U0 and to three per cen t, on the oxcess ove r Rs. 1,000 : Provided th at such sum shall not be less than ono rupee :
