to amend the Uttar Pradesh Electricity (Duty) Act,
1952,
as follows :- IT is HEREBY enacted in the Thirty-third Year of the Republic of India:'
Short title and

(Amendment) Act, 1982.
I. (1) This Act may be called the Uttar Pradesh Electricity (Duty)
(2) It extends to the whole of Uttar Pradesh.

2. In section 3 of the U.P. Electricity (Duty) Act, 1952, in sub-section (5) section after clause (d) the following clause shall be inserted and be deemed to have • U. P. Act no.33 been inserted with effect from June I, 1976, namely :-of 1952.

Energy consumed in light upon supplies made under the Janta
Service Connection Scheme.
Explanation :-For
the purposes-of clause (e) "Janta Service Connection.
Scheme" means a scheme approved by the State Electricity Board
for supplying Energy to Harijans, landless labourers, farmers '(holding land not
exceeding one acre), members of armed forces (whether serving or retired),
,'7 war widows and other weaker sections in districts notified by the State P': Government."
