j udgement, decree or orde r of any Cou rt or au tho- rity to the con trary, any assessment, re-assessment, levy or collect ion of any tax made or pu rportin g to have been made, any action or thing tak en or done in relatio n to such assessment , re-assessment, levy or collection under provisions of the principal Act in respec t of the turn ove r of goods specified in item No. 1 to 15 of the Schedule att ach ed to the principal Act before the commencement of this Act , shall be deemed to be as valid and effective as if such assessment, re-assessment, levy or collection or action or thin g had been made, taken or done under the pri nc ipa l Act as amend ed by this Act and accor- ding ly, all acts, proceedin gs or thin gs done or take n by the Sta te Gov ernment or by any officer of the Sta te Government or by any othe r authority in con nection wi th the assessment, re-assessment, levy or collection of such tax shall, for all purposes , be deemed to be, and to have always been done o ' take n in accorda nce with law.

Preamble Whereas it is expedien t to amend the Assam Elec- Assam Act tric ity Duty Act, 1964, h ereinafter called the prin cipalof Act , in the ma nner hereinafte r appearing ; It is hereby e nac ted in the Tw enty-third Year of the Rep ubl ic of India as follows: —
Short titl e, 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Electri- extent and city Du ty (Amendm ent) Act, 1972. commence-
(2) It shall have the like extent as the prin cipal Act.

(a) supplied to a consu mer by the Board ; or
(b) supplied to a consumer by a licensee generat ing energy or pro cur ing energy in bulk from the B oard ; or
(c) gen era ted by a person for his own use or consu mp tion."
