(REMOVAL OF DISQUALIFICATIONS) (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2006.

ACT
further to amend the Assam State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act. 1950.
Preamble Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) Act. 1950, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing;

It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-seventh Year of the Republic o f India as follows: -
Short title, extent and commencemen
1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam State Legislature Members (Removal of Disqualifications) (Amendment) Act, 2006.
(2) It extends to the whole o f Assam.
(3) It shall be deemed to have come into force on the 26 thDay o f January 1950.

Exp lanation: - For the purposes of this entry the word "local authority" Shall mean and include the bodies and authorities as defined in clause (31) of Central Act
