IT:18. HEREBY enacted in the Forty-ninth Year of the Republic of India as

_ 1. This Act may he called the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature members and
Officers and Ministers Amenities Laws (Amendment) Act, 1998.

AMENDMENT OF THE LIITAR -PRADESH STATE LEGISLATURE (MEMBERS'
EMOLUMENTS AND PENSION) ACT, 1980
2. In section 3 Of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Members' Emoluments
-and Pension). Act, 1980, hereinafter referred loin this part as the Principal Act, in sub-
section (I), for the words "eight hundred and fifty rupees", the words, "two thousand
rupees" shall be substituted.
, 3. In section 4 of the principaIAct, for the words "three thousand rupees", the
words "five thousand rupees" shall be substituted.
4. Section 5 of the principal Act shall be re-numbered as subsection (1)
thereof and, •
. :• (a) in sub-section (1) as so renumbered, for the words- "not eiceeding eighty-
five thousand rupees per annum from June 1,.- 1997,".• the :Words and _figures
"inn exceeding eighty-live thousand rupees per annum from Jtine.1, 1997 and
not -exceeding - eighty-eight thousand rupees per Minim: from June I, 1998,"

In section 2 of the Uttar Pradesh State Legislature (Officers Salaries and
Allowances) Act, - 1952,
herein 'after referred to in this part as the principal Act, in sub-
Section (1) for the words "rupees one thousand" the words "two thousand and five
hundred rupees" shall bc szthctituted
In section 4 of the Principal Act,—
in sub-section (Li, the words "and also at such 'other place in Uttar
