further to amend the Asram Amusements and Betting Tax Act, 1939.
Preamble. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Amusements and Betting Tax Act, 1939, here- Assam Act inafter called the principal Act, in the manner here- VI of (939. inafter appearing ;
Tt is hereby enacted in the Sixteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows :—
Short title, extent and commence ment.
1.(1) This Act may be called the Assam Amuse ments and Betting Tax (Second Amendment) Act, 1965.
(2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act.
(3) It shall come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the Official Gazette, appoint.
Amendment of Section 3(1) of Assam Act VI of 1939.
2. In clause (6) of sub-section (1) of section 3 of the principal Act, for items (it) and (Hi), the following shall be substituted, namely :—
“(ii) one rupee or more but less than two rupees.
Amendment of Section 3A of Assam Act VI of 1939.
(w) two rupees or more sixty per centum of such pay ment.” ;
(1) of section 3A of the princi pal Act, the words “ or rupees five whichever is less” shall be deleted. — ■— ------------- — - ■
