(a) "Act" means the Punjab Sugarcane (Regulatlon of Furchnao
and Supply) Act, 1953.
(b) “Bond" moans anagrccmcnt madcundor than rlllus.
(0) ”form" means a form appended to these rulnr.

(l) “Weigh bridge" means any mechanism used to Weigh one
and include: any weigh-bridnu maintained or used by tllu
occupier, manager or purclulsing agent or by any parlon
acting on bin behalf ;
‘ U) "yin" manna the agricultural ycnr commencing on the firfll

the metric system of weights and multiples or sub-multiples
thereof, Iand all weighments shall be made by means of
Weigh-bridge or scale and recorded correctly to the nearest
1/20 th of a quintal.’
(ii) It shall not be Lawful to use any other weight in relation to
any such transcllon.
Provided that margin of error up to five kilograms or one percent,
whichever is less, in weighment may be condoned ;

Commissioner, shall be made from the net weight of

any other reason.

after sunset unless adequate lighting . ul'mngemenls are
made at the weigh—bridge.
(vii) There shall he no detention of cane carts for more than 4 hours
without adequate cause. The occupier of a factory shall
causetho time of ai‘riVal and departure of carts etc. to be
recorded in the pass book .
(viii) AdeQuate arrangements to the satisfaction 01‘ the Cane
Commissioner shullbc made at, allpurchasing centres for :—<
(e) regulating the entry and parking or carts to avoid congestion;

agent before the cane grower or his authorised agent leaves the weigh-bride

And whereas the first party further agrees to supply good cane free from leaves,
tops and roots at the factory gate or otw— -1uu'chasing centre in such quantities
and on rualr dates, as inay be specified iuthe unit-wise requisition slip issued by the second
party. Now this agreement witnessth as under L»-
l. The cane shall be taken by the second party in instalments equitably spread over
the whole working period of the factory,

3. 1n the ease of a callcgl'owur; the second party shall spend an amount equivalent
to at least 50 per cenlum or the Commission prescribed under paragraph (2) above for the
dcvclopmentlof sugarcane of such cane grower in accordance with the directions of the
Cane Commissioner.
4. The 50 per centuln of the commission prescribed under paragraph (2) above
for the development of sugarcane will he deposited in a separate bank account which will
be operated jointly by the representative of concerned cane growers cooperative society.

6.. In case of thy first party wilfully fails to supply cane to the second party on three
Consecutive occasions in accordance with the requisition made by the sewnd party. the
first party shall cease to have a claim to sell cans to the second party.
7- The second Pam shall qldinarily send the requisition for cuue to [be first party
at. least four- days before the cane is required and Will not make changes within this period

lo. No compensation for breach of this agreement shall be payable by either party
when such breach is due to natural causes, calamities, or accident, beyond human control.
