ACT FURTHER TO AMEND THE ANDHRA PRADESH ADVOCATES’
WELFARE FUND ACT, 1987:
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of Andhra Pradesh in the Sixty Eighth
Year of the Republic of the India as follows:

(1) This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Advocates’ Welfare Fund Short title and
(Amendment) Act, 2017.

(2) Itshall come into force with immediate effect.
In the Andhra Pradesh Advocates’ Welfare Fund Act, 1987 (herein after referred Amendment of

to as the principal Act) in section 4, after sub-section (3), the following proviso 33 ०1987.
shall be inserted, namely:-
“provided that the committee shall consist of the following till a separate Bar Council
is constituted for the State of Andhra Pradesh after re-organization.

(@) TheAdvocate - General of Andhra Pradesh .. Chairman
(b) Secretary to Government, Legal & Legislative affairs &
Justice, Law Department Member
(c) Secretary to Government, Revenue D‘epartment .. Member
(d) Registrar, High Court of Judicature at Hyderabad for the
State of Telanganaand the State of Andhra Pradesh. .. Member
(€) Three Advocates to be nominated by the Government. ...Members
() Secretary to the Bar Council who shall be Secretary
Ex-officio of the Welfare Fund Committee without voting rights.”
Amendment 3, In section 9 of the principal Act, in sub-section(2), after clause (h), the following
Section 9. clause shall be inserted, namely:
“G) Appoint a Secretary and other ministerial staff, if warranted to meet the
contingency hindering the smooth and effective administration of the Welfare
Fund, notwithstanding anything specified elsewhere in this Act,.”
Amendment 4. InSection 12 of the principal Act,
of Section 12.
(1) Insub-section (1), for the words “fifty rupees”, the words, “one hundred
rupees” shall be substituted.
(i) Insub-section (2), for the words, “rupees fifty” the words, “one hundred
rupees” shall be substituted.
b S In section 12A of the principal Act, in sub-section (1) for the words and figures,
of Seciion “Rs.50/-”, the words and figures, “Rs.100/-”, for the words and figures,
12A. ”Rs.43/-7, the words and figures, “Rs.86/-", and for the words and figures
Rs.7/-”, the words and figures “Rs.14/-", shall be substituted.
