Substitution of
long title.
Act 18 of 2005,
Amendment of
section 2.
2. ln‘ Sri Venkateswara Veterinary University Act, 2005,
(here' after referred to as the principal Act), for the
long title, the following shall be substituted, namely:-
“An Act to 'provide for the establishment and
incorporation of a teaching and a "ating university in
Veterinary Sciences in the State of Andhra Pradesh and
for the matters connected therewith or incidental
thereto".
3. In section 2 of the principal Act,-
(1) after clause (a), the following clauses shall be
inserted, namely:-
“(aa)‘ affiliated college/educational institution’
means a college/ educational institution
affiliated to the university providing courses
of study qualifying students for admission
to university examinations in accordance
with the Regulations; -
(ab)‘affiliated college’ means a college within the

“(da) ‘college' means a college established

In section 41 of the principal Act, for clause (v),
the following clause shall be substituted
namely,-

Provided that polytechnic colleges
affiliation/regulation of all colleges whether
in government or private sector shall be done
by a “Regulatory body" like Para-Veterinary
Council once it is constituted by government;

(3) On and from the commencement of _Sri
Venkateswara Veterinary University
(Amendment) Act, 2015, no college shall offer
certificate/diploma/degree courses in
Veterinary and animal sciences/diarylfishery
without affiliation of Sri Venkateswara
Veterinary University and no Polytechnic
colleges whether in Government or in Private
sector shall offer such Certificate/ Diploma/ ‘
Degree Courses unless approved by the
Regulatory body constituted by Government
under the proviso to sub-section (2) in such
manner as may be prescribed”.

The following Act of the Andhra Pradesh
Legislature received the assent of the'Governor on the
3rd October, 2015 and the said assent is hereby first
published on the 8‘" October, 2015 in theAndhra Pradesh
Gazette for general information.
ACT NO. 15 OF 2015
AN ACT TO AMEND SRI VENKATESWARA
VETERINARY UNIVERSITY ACT, 2005.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Andhra Pradesh in the Sixty - sixth Year of the Republic
of lndia as follows:-
1. (1) This Act may be called Sri Venkateswara
Short title and
Veterinary University (Amendment) Act, 2015.

(cb) to institute courses of study and to hold
examinations for, and to confer Post
Graduate lUnder Graduate degrees to the
Private Colleges in Veterinary, Diary & Fishery
Sector affiliated by the University”.
7. In section 8 of the principal Act, in sub-section
(1), after the words “maintained", the words
“or affiliated" shall be inserted.
8. in section 19 of the principal Act. in sub-section
(2), after clause (I), the following shall be
added, namely:-
“(m) one person to be nominated by the
Chancellor from among the Scientists of
lndian Veterinary Research Institute (lVRl),
lzatnagar, Bareily (U.P)."
9. In section 20'of the principal Act, in subsection
(1), after clause (i), the following clause shall
be added, namely,-
"(j) to affiliate or recognise Veterinary, Diary &
Fishery colleges/educational institutions
including conditional affiliation or recognition
of the colleges or educational institutions and
to withdraw such affiliation or recognition on
the recommendation of the Academic
Council".
10. In section 22 of the principal Act. in sub—section
(2), in clause (b), after sub—clause (ii), the
following sub-clause shall be added namely,-
"(iii) for the grant of affiliation or recognition or
withdrawal of such affiliation or recognition
of Veterinary, Dairy & Fishery colleges/
education institutions”.

(4) after clause (h), the following clauses shall be inserted
namely:-
“(ha) ‘ polytechnic‘ means a polytechnic offering
courses under ‘veterinary, dairy and fishery
sciences’ as defined in the Act;
(hb) ‘recognized college or recognized institution’
means a college or institution as the case may
be recognized by the University under the
conditions prescribed".
4. In section 3 of the PrincipalAct, after sub-section Amendment of
(1), the following shall be inserted,namely:- section 3-
"(1A) the University shall be a teaching, research,
extension and affiliating University".
5. In section 4 of the principal Act, after the words Amendment of
“processing and marketing in Veterinary, seem“-
Animal and Fishery Sciences", the words “and
to streamline the Veterinary Education,
affiliate, recognise the colleges imparting
Veterinary, Diary and Fishery education" shall
be added at the end.

6. In section 6 of the principal Act,- section 6.
(1) after clause (a), the following clause shall be
inserted, namely:-
“(aa) to affiliate or recognise Veterinary Colleges
or Polytechnics and to withdraw such
affiliation or recognition in the manner as may
be prescribed".
(2) after clause (c), the following clauses shall be
inserted, namely:-
“(ca) to institute courses of study and to hold
examinations for, and to confer diplomas to
the Private Polytechnics in Veterinary, Dairy
& Fishery Sector affiliated by the University;
