The following Act of the Andhra Pradesh Legislature received the assent of the
Governor on the 3"1 May. 2016 and the said assent is hereby first published on the 5‘“ May,
2016 in theAndhra Pradesh Gazette for general information :-
AN ACT FURTHER TO AMEND THE ANDHRA PRADESH
PAYMENT OF SALARIES AND PENSION AND
REMOVAL OF DISQUALIFICATIONS ACT, 1953.
ACT No. 12 OF 2016.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State of
Andhra Pradesh in the Sixty—seventh year of the
Republic of India as follows:-
1. (1) ‘ This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Payment of Shontitled- an?
Salaries and Pension and Removal of Disqualifications mmmenoemen
(Amendment) Act, 2016.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the State
Government may, by notification, appoint.
2. In the Andhra Pradesh Payment of Salaries and Pension Amendment of
and Removal of Disqualifications Act, 1953, (herein after Act 255;;‘3’3;
referred to as the principal Act), in section 11,- l
(a) for sub—section (1A) and the proviso thereunder, the
following shall be substituted, namely ,—

“(1A) Every member referred to in sub—section (1) shall
be provided, at his or her option, either with railway
coupons enabling to travel in the first Class upto a
maximum distance of 70922 Kms. (Seventy Thousand
Nine Hundred and Twenty Two Kilometers) in a year or
with such lumpsum amount of Rs. 1,00,000/— per year
(Rupees One Lakh only) at the stage of 800 Kilometers
according to the fair fixed for each Kilometer travelled,
upto 70922 Kms. [Seventy Thousand Nine Hundred and
Twenty Two Kilometers) and such member or his or her
spouse shall be entitled to travel either singly or together
with spouse or with any other person by any railway in
India:
Provided that the lumpsum amount so specified above
shall be paid to each such member in two equal
instalments, one in the first half of the year and the
other in the second half of the year subject to such
rules as may be made in this behalf”.
In section 11B of the Principal Act,—
(i)

After
in subsection (1), for the word “Hyderabad”, the words
“the State Capital” shall be substituted;
for the proviso thereunder, the following proviso shall
be substituted, namely,—
“Provided that where any such member does not use
the accommodation provided by the State Government
under this sub—section, such member shall be paid an
accommodation allowance at the rate of rupees fifty
thousand per mensum.”.
section 11—B of the Principal Act, the following new
section shall be inserted namely,—
‘Books and 11C Every member of the Legislative Assembly or the

allowances
Legislative Council who does not hold any of the office
referred to in sections 3, 4, 5, 12—A and 12—8 shall be
entitled for Books and Magazines allowances of Rs. 20,000/— per
year upto Rs. 1,00,000/— per term.”.

In Section 11D of the Principal Act, in sub—section (1), after
item (iii), for the existing paragraph, the following shall be
substituted, namely;—

“A pension of rupees thirty thousand per mensum for
the first term or a part of it and a pension of rupees
two thousand per mensum per each year of his service
in subsequent term as such member, so however, that
in no case the pension payable to such person shall
exceed mpees Fifty Thousand”.
6. for section 11E of the Principal Act, the following shall be Substitution of
susbtituted, namely,— section 11E.
“Advance to Members of
the Legislative Assembly
and the Legislative
Council for purchase of
motor car/ House
BUilding Advance.
11E. Subject to such rules as may be
made by the State Government in this
behalf, there may be paid to a Member of
Legislative Assembly or Legislative Council
by way of re-payable advance of a sum of
rupees Twenty Lakhs (Rs. 20,00,000/—) per term of five years
for the purchase of a motor car/House Building Advance in
such manner as may be prescribed.”
7. In section 11F of the Principal Act for expression “Rs. 83,000/— Amendmem’
(Rupees Eighty Three Thousand only) per mensum”, the
section 11 F.
expression “Rs. 1,13,000/- (Rupees one lakh thirteen
thousand only) per mensum” shall be substituted.
