The following Act of the Andhra Pradesh, Legislature received the assent of the
Governor on the 23m April, 2018 and the said assent is hereby first published on the
25‘" April, 2018 in theAndhra Pradesh Gazette for general information :—
ACT No. 16 of 2018
AN ACT FURTHER TO AMEND THE ANDHRA PRADESH MEDICAL
PRACTITIONERS REGISTRATION ACT, 1968.
Be it enacted by the Legislature of the State ofAndhra Pradesh in the
Sixty-ninth year of the Republic of India, as follows:—
1. (1 ). This Act may be called the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Short title and
Registration (Amendment) Act, 201 8. , commencement.
(2) It shall come into force on such date as the Government may, by
notification, appoint.
Omission of
2. in the Andhra Pradesh Medical Practitioners Registration Act, 1968 section
(hereinafter referred to as the principal Act), section 15AA shall be 15AA
omitted. Act No.23 of
1968,
3. in the principal Act, in section 15B, after the proviso, the following Amendment of
proviso shall be added, namely,- section 153

“Provided further that the rendering of one year service as senior
resident in Public Sector Hospitals shall not be applicable to those
persons possessing Post Graduate qualification granted by the
Universities or Institutions situated in foreign countries and
central/W 102 recognized under section 12 or section 13 of the lndian Medical
“1956' CouncilAct, 1956.".
