(Received the assent of the Governor on the 5th July 1960) ASSAM ACT No.XXV OF 1960 THE ASSAM MOTOR VEHICLES TAXATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1960 (As passed by the Assembly) [Published in the dssam Gazgite, Extraordinary, dated the 14th July 1960] An Act Surther to gmend the Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1936 Preamble Whereas it is e'xpedient further to amend the Assam Assa Act Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1936, hereinafter called IX of 1936. कि
9 L the principal Act, in the manner }ercinalter appear- ing: It is hereby enacted in the Eleventh Year of the Republic of India as follows : — Short title, 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Motor extent and Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Act, commence- 1960. हा 57114 * (2) It shall have the like extent as the princi- pal Act, (3) It shali come into force on such date as the State Government may, by notification in the official Gazette, appoint. Amendment 2. For sub-section (/') of Section 2 of the principal of Section 2 Acr, the following shall be substituted, namely - ol Assam Act IX of 1936. “(f) ‘Local Authority’ means a body of Station Com- missioners, Municipal Boards or Town Committees, Gaon Sabhas, Gaon Panchayats, Anchalik Panchayats or any other authority entrusted by any Government with, or legally entitled to, the control or manage- ment of a Municipal or local fund”’. Deletion of 3. Section 23 of the principal Act and the Second. Section 23 of Schedule appended thereto shall be omitted. Assam Act IX of 1936 and the Se- cond Sche- dule. Amendment 4.
