tion Act, 1952 (Assam Act I of 1953) here inafter called the principal Act for the purpose hereinafte r a ppear ing ;
It is hereby enacted as follows: — 1. Sh or t ti tl e , ex te nt an d com m en ce m en t. — (1) This Act may be called
the Assam Liq uor Prohibit ion (Am endm ent) Act, 1953. (2) I t shal l h ave th e like e xt en t as the princi pal A ct. (3) It shall come into force at once. 2. A m en d m en t o f Se cti o n 17 (1 ).— In sub-section (1) of section 17 of the
Prin cipal Act, for the words “ consist ing of two or more non-official residents” , the words “ consist ing in such prop ort ion as the Commissioner may deem fit, of two or more official an d non-officia l resid ents” , shall be sub stituted.
