15 ASSAM ACT III OF 1954 THE ASSAM AGRICULTURAL INCOME-TAX (AMENDMENT) ACT, 1954 (Passed by the Assembly) (Received the assent of the Governor on the 12th March 1954) [Published in the Assam Gazette, Extraordinary, dated the 12th March, 1954] An Act to amend the Assam Agricultural Income-Tax Act, 1939 WHEREAS it is expedient to amend the Assam Agricultural Income-Tax Act (Assam Act IX of 1939), hereinafter called the principal Act, in the manner nafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted as follows :— 1, Short title, extent and commencement,—(1) This Act may be called ssam Agricultural Income-Tax (Amendment) Act, 1954. 2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. 3) It shall come into force with effect from 1st April 1954, 2, Amendment of section 6.—The proviso to section 6 of the principal shall be deleted.
