Preamble Short title, extent and commencement Amendment of Section 9 Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Deori Autonomous Council Act, 2005, hereinafter referred to as the principal Act, in the manner hereinafter appearing; It is hereby enacted in the Sixty-eighth Year of the Republic of India as follows:- Assam Act No. XXV of 2005 (1) This Act may be called the Deori Autonomous Council (Amendment) Act, 2017. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once. In the principal Act, in section 9, in sub-section (1), for the words “a majority” appearing in between the words “carried by” and “of the”, the words “two-third majority” shall be substituted. S. M.
