IV OF 2004 (Received the assent of the Governor on 2nd March, 2004) THE ASSAM MOTOR VEHICLES TAXATION (AMENDMENT) ACT, 2003 Preamble Short title, extent and commence- ment. Amendment of Schedule. Repeal and saving. AN ACT further to amend the Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1936. Whereas it is expedient further to amend the Assam Act Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation Act, 1936, hereinafter No. IX of referred to as the principal Act, in the manner 1936 hereinafter appearing ; It is hereby enacted in the Fifty-Fourth Year ot the Republic of India as follows :- 1. (1) This Act may be called the Assam Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Act, 2003. (2) It shall have the like extent as the principal Act. (3) It shall come into force at once.. 2. In the principal Act, in the Schedule, in Article पा, for Entry 10, the following Entry shall be substituted, namely :- “10. All Assam Super Deluxe Rs. 50,000.00 Rs. 12,500.00 Contract Carriage. (Annual Tax) (Quarterly Tax)” 3. (1) The Motor Vehicles Taxation (Amendment) Assam Ordinance, 2003 is hereby repealed. Ordinance No. 11 of (2) Notwithstanding such repeal anything done or 2003. any action taken under the Ordinance so repealed shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of this Act.
