AMENDMENT ACT, 1958.

further to amend the Madras Buildings (Lease and Rent Control) Act, 1949 ' WHEREAS 1t is expedtent to amend the Madras

Building" (Lease and Rent Control) Act, 1949 (Madras Act XXV of 1949), for the purpose hereinafter appearmg,

BE 1t enacted m the Ninth Year of the Republic of Ind1a as follows:-

1 Short htle and commencement.-( I) This Act may be railed the Madras Buildings (Lease and Rent Control) Amendment Act) 1958.

(2) It shall come mto force at once

2. Amendment of section I.-In sub-section (3) of section 1 of the Madras Buildmgs (Lease and Rent Control) Act, 1949 (Madras Act XXV of 1949). as in force in the Malabar dtstrict refened to in sub6 sect10n (2) of section 5 of the States Reorgamsation Act, 1956 (Central Act 37 of 1956), for the words, figures and letters "the 31st March 1958"

the words, figures and letters "the 30th September 1958" sh.a.ll be substituted.

Recetved the assent of the Prestdent on the 29th of March, 1958
