Uttaranchal Threetter Panchayat Raj (Sixth Amendment) Act, 2005*

An Act Further to amend the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam, 1947 and the Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Panchayat and Zila Panchayat Adhiniyam, 1961 (as applicable in the State of Uttaranchal) in the context of the State of Uttaranchal
Be it enacted by the State Assembly in the Fifty-sixth year of the Republic of India as follows:-
Section 1. Short title, Commencement and Extent
1. Short title, Commencement and Extent.- (1) This Act may be called The Uttaranchal Threetter Panchayat Raj (Sixth Amendment) Act, 2005.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
(3) it shall extend to the whole State of Uttaranchal.
Part-1
Amendment of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Act, 1947 (Act no. 26 of 1947) (as applicable in the State of Uttaranchal) (hereinafter referred to as the Principal Act):
Section 2. Amendment of sections 11-A and 12
2. Amendment of sections 11-A and 12.- In the first proviso of sub-section (2) of section 11-A and the first proviso of clause (a) of sub-section (5) of section 12 of the principal Act, for the words, "twenty-seven", the word, "fourteen" shall be substituted.
Part-2
Amendment of the Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Panchayat and Zila Panchayat Adhiniyam, 1961 (Act No. 33 of 1961) (as applicable in the State of Uttaranchal) (hereinafter referred to as the principal Act):
Section 3. Amendment of sections 6-A, 7-A, 18-A and 19-A

Amendment of sections 6-A, 7-A, 18-A and 19-A.- In the first proviso of sub-section (1) of section 6-A, sub-section (1) of section 7-A, sub-section (1) of section 18-A, each and the second proviso of sub-section (1) of section 19-A of the principal Act, for the words, "twenty-seven", the word, "fourteen" shall be substituted.
Section 4. Repeal and Savings
4. Repeal and Savings.- (1) The Uttaranchal Threetter Panchayat Raj (Sixth Amendment) Ordinance, 2005 (the Uttaranchal Ordinance no. 2 of 2005) is hereby repealed.
(2) Notwithstanding such a repeal, any thing done or any action taken under the provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam, 1947 and the Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Panchayat and Zila Panchayat Adhiniyam, 1961 as amended by the Ordinance referred to in sub-section (1) shall be deemed to have been done or taken under the corresponding provisions of the Uttar Pradesh Panchayat Raj Adhiniyam, 1947 and the Uttar Pradesh Kshetra Panchayat and Zila Panchayat Adhiniyam, 1961 as amended by this Act, as if the provisions of this Act where in force at all material times.
