Tamil Nadu State Legislature (Continuance of use of English Language) Act, 1964*

An Act to provide for the continuance of the use of the English language for the transaction of business in the State Legislature.

Be it enacted by the Legislature of the 3[State of Tamil Nadu] in the Fifteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:-

Section 1. Short title and commencement

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the 1[Tamil Nadu] State Legislature (Continuance of use of English Language) Act, 1964.

(2) It shall come into force on the 26th day of January, 1965.

Section 2. Continuance of use of English language in the State Legislature

2. Continuance of use of English language in the State Legislature.- Notwithstanding the expiration of the period of ??? fifteen years from the commencement of the Constitution the English Language may continue to be used for the transaction of business in the Legislature of the 3[State of Tamil Nadu].
