An Act to amend the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994
Be it enacted by the Legislative Assembly of the State of Tamil Nadu in the Forty-fifth Year of the Republic of India as follows.

1. Short title and commencement.- (1) This Act may be called the Tamil Nadu Panchayats (Amendment) Act, 1994.
(2) It shall come into force at once.
2. Amendment of section 261.- In section 261 of the Tamil Nadu Panchayats Act, 1994 (Tamil Nadu Act 21 of 1894), in sub-section (2), for the words "only for nine months from the date of the commencement of this Act", the expression "upto the 31st day of December, 1995" Shall be substituted.
